²⁷ And the Lord ^(A)will scatter you among the peoples, ^(B)and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you. ²⁸ And ^(C)there you will serve gods of wood and stone, the work of human hands, ^(D)that neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. ^29 (E)But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you ^(F)in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. ³¹ For the Lord your God is ^(G)a merciful God. ^(H)He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

Restoration for Israel and Judah

30 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: ² “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ^(A)Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you. ^3 (B)For behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, ^(C)when I will restore ^(D)the fortunes of my people, ^(E)Israel and Judah, says the Lord, ^(F)and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it.”
